This is the blog of the Spring 2011 Berstein Seminar — a mathematics seminar at Cornell journeying through topics in Geometry Group Theory related to subgroups of non-positively curved groups.

The title is inspired by Martin Bridson‘s universe of finitely presented groups, as described in his 2006 ICM article. Dragons, dwelling in the distant wilderness are found to venture into verdant pastures of non-positive curvature, where they appear in the subgroup structure.
